Alieu Jallow represents the new generation of global-minded ecosystem builders as a certified sustainability business strategist and the Founder and Executive Director of Startup Incubator Gambia. From the rural village of northern Gambia, where he grew up and labored from childhood to support his family, he is a Project Management Professional and a Lean Black Belt who rose through sheer determination and an unyielding belief in possibility. With over 10 years of experience in supporting and building ventures across Africa, Europe, and North America, Alieu Jallow holds a master’s degree in management innovation and entrepreneurship; works as an Entrepreneurship & Innovation Specialist at the City of Mississauga, where he helps foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the city’s residents and businesses. Besides, he is a Professor at St. Lawrence College  and an Adjunct Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University. In late 2014, after being selected as a prestigious Mandela Washington Fellow under President Barack Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative, he founded Startup Incubator Gambia, which is the country’s first-ever business incubation hub that has supported over 1,500 startups and created over 1,000 jobs in various sectors. Ultimately, Alieu Jallow’s impact stands as a testament to the power of staying rooted in one’s community while thinking with a global perspective, proving that with the right support, Gambian talent can compete on any stage in the world.
